This Thursday, my client Bookspring is hosting a reception with a lecture and tour by Seuss expert Dr. Charles Cohen on “The Secret Art of Seuss.” Here’s the Seuss-tastic 411:

Who: Bookspring, a local affiliate of both Reach Out and Read & Reading is Fundamental, champions early literacy to empower children with a lifelong love of reading. In particular, Bookspring targets economically disadvantaged and under-served families, many of whom cannot afford books to keep their children reading from birth on.

What: A fun evening for all Seuss enthusiasts to support a great cause and maybe even win a raffled off piece of original Seuss artwork. And tickets are only $30 and include one raffle ticket! Please purchase tickets here.

When: Thursday, May 14, 2009, Reception at 6:30 pm, Tour at 7 pm

Where: ART on 5th (1501 W. 5th Street, Austin, Texas 78703) For map please click here.

WHY: Reading to your children is the best way to help prepare them for success in school and in life. But when you are living in poverty, reading isn’t always at the top of your priority list. Bookspring provides children books, especially children living in lower income homes, born to teen parents, or living in homes where English is a second language. They are distributed through partnerships with local pediatric offices, pre-schools, libraries and other partnering nonprofit organizations.

Please join me for a fun evening for a great cause!
